Penrose can be used as LDAP firewall proxy by configuring it to return only subset or different information to external clients.

How does Penrose distinguish between requests from internal or external clients?
Is it just a matter of configuring different usernames with different permissions? Or does Penrose carry out this decision by analysing from where the request was issued?
