To be used as persistent cache, SunONE Directory Server will have to be configured as a replica server, and Penrose Server will be the master server.
Initial Setup
You need to have a Directory Server that contains the same suffixes that you have on Penrose Server. In this example we are using dc=Example,dc=com.
Configure Replication
- Click the Configuration tab
- Click the Data node
- Click the Replication tab on the right
- Enter the Replication Manager's password.
- Click Enable Changelog to enable it.
- Click Allow replicas to be 4.x compatible, enter Bind DN and password.
- Click Save

Configure Replication for the Directory Tree
- Open Data -> dc=Example,dc=com ->Replication (Disabled)
- Click Enable Replication

- Enable the replication as Consumer Replica.

- Click the Change button, then select Enable 4.x compatibility.

- Click the Advanced button.

- Click the Optional tab, add referral pointing to Penrose Server, e.g. ldap://localhost:10389/dc=Example,dc=com.

- Click the Advanced button again, click the Optional tab, then click Overwrite referrals automatically created by replication.
