Introduction

Microsoft Outlook can be configured to use an address book from an LDAP server. With Penrose, the address book data can be stored in any backend supported by Penrose, for instance MySQL database. See Microsoft Outlook.

Creating Address Book

Go to Tools -> E-Mail Accounts..., select Add a new directory or address book, then click Next.

Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) then click Next.

Enter the name of the server where you run Penrose Server, e.g. localhost. Optionally, you can specify the logon information. Click More Settings....

In the Connection tab you can specify a name for the address book, e.g. Penrose. Make sure the Port points to Penrose Server's LDAP port number, e.g. 10389.

Specify the search base DN. In this case we use the root entry in the example's mapping.xml: dc=Outlook,dc=Example,dc=com. Click OK, click Next, then click Finish.
